home security upgrade

Are you eligible for a free home security upgrade?

2 minutes read

If you are over 60 years of age, hold a current Pensioner Concession card and live in Townsville, Mount Isa or Cairns, you could be eligible for a free home security upgrade.

It’s all part of a new $15 million state government trial that was announced recently by the Honourable Leanne Enoch, Minister for Communities and Housing. The trial has been designed to help seniors feel safer in their homes by providing security features up to the value of $10,000.

Who can apply?

To be eligible for a security upgrade under this trial, you need to be:

  • Over 60 years of age
  • A Pensioner Concession card holder
  • A resident of Townsville, Mount Isa or Cairns local government areas
  • Unable to afford the required home security improvements yourself
  • Unable to receive similar assistance through other government programs.

What security features are available?

Strong window locks and shutters, security cameras and spotlights are just a few of the security features on offer under this initiative. Importantly, Crimsafe security screens and doors also qualify under the scheme, offering homeowners real peace of mind when it comes to protecting your home.

What makes Crimsafe the smart choice?

There’s no question about it, Crimsafe makes strongest security screens in Australia. They can also be designed to fit any window or door and they all feature Crimsafe’s patented Tensile Tuffâ mesh – so they’re tough enough to keep out intruders and insects, without the need for ugly bars or grilles.
