G’day. Kimmy’s Dad here.

Hope you’re well and all that.

Well, here we are, smack bang in the middle of summer.

The days seem to last forever, Cricket’s on the tele, and ‘slip, slop, slap and slide’ isn’t just something we say but something we do.

I mean if there’s something super important about the hottest time of the year it’s outdoor protection, am I right?

Which seems to be a fitting, completely unplanned segue (he types with a wry smile on his face) into Kimmy’s Dad’s Home Safety Tips, the ‘Summer edition’, where we remind you about a few easy things you can do around home to ramp up protection.

Here we go then.

Number one. Invest in a security camera or alarm. Typically, intruders will take random and spur of the moment opportunities. Chuck up some security signs on your fence, letterbox or windows to help put them off.

Number two. Get mail collected when you’re on holidays – Uncollected mail in the letterbox is a sure sign no-one’s home. Ask a trusted neighbour to collect the mail while you’re away.

Number three. Keep gates locked. These are your first line of defence, so that makes sense.

Equally. Keep your garage or garden shed locked tight. Tools, ladders, garden equipment all cost a lot to replace, and can be used to make home break-ins easier.

Number four. Get decent locks on your outside external doors. Triple locks or deadlocks increase the strength and security of your doors.

Number five. And I love this one. Leave shoes by the front door. This gives the impression someone’s home.

Finally number six. And this is me being predictable if you don’t already have Crimsafe.

Get onto your nearest Authorised Licensee for a free measure and quote quote, soon as you can. You can complete this form here if that helps. I guess the biggest tip I can give is this. Crimsafe is right up there for the best family summer protection. It’s an investment you won’t regret.

Y’see with Crimsafe’s patented Screw Clamp® technology, and 0.9mm structural grade Tensile Tuff® stainless steel mesh, it’s Australia’s toughest – and most trusted security screen. Probably because most peeps know that Crimsafe research and development never stops.

What does that mean? Well over summer especially, I suppose it means getting your Crimsafe on inside, is just as important as getting your SPF 50+ on outside.

Yeah and while I’m at it, a couple of final things. Crimsafe blocks up to 62% of UV rays coming inside. The practical upshot? Well you get fresh air and a cooler house, and because it blocks up to 53% of solar heat gain, your air con isn’t working as hard.

And there’s storm protection too – Crimsafe acts as a strong barrier against hailstones and debris carried by storm wind!

I’ll let you get back to whatever you were doing. I’m gonna pop out for a quick dip in the pool.

And once again. A reminder that Mel and Bronnie at Crimsafe Marketing asked if you could sign up for my updates (if you haven’t already, which you should’ve done because they’re ridiculously good value, not to mention mildly amusing).

Until next time, stay crim safe.
