Why choose Crimsafe
Crimsafe is stronger than the rest. That’s no boast, just a fact. We use thicker mesh and a screw-clamp system that is proven to be significantly stronger and harder to break into than our competitors.
Crimsafe looks great. Our stainless steel mesh provides maximum security without the intrusive appearance of bars and grilles. Powder-coated mesh and frames provide simple, clean lines that enhance and complement your home or business. You get maximum security, with a great view.
Crimsafe improves your energy efficiency. Up to 40% of household heat gain and loss occurs through glass windows and doors. Installing Crimsafe over glass windows and doors improves the cooling and heat retention energy efficiency of a building. It’s verified by the Window Energy Rating Scheme (WERS).
Crimsafe gives you a quick exit in emergencies, even while keeping the bad guys out. Our unique Safe-S-Cape® is a keyless exit system that is easy to use from the inside, but still provides complete security and protection from the outside.
Crimsafe is corrosion-resistant. Crimsafe screens have endured 3,000 hours of prohesion salt spray testing, simulating 30 years of environmental exposure, with no corrosion, no loss of adhesion and no blistering.
Crimsafe provides a minimum 10-year warranty. That’s 10 years’ peace of mind. Some of our products have an extended warranty of 12 and 15 years. That’s how confident we are that every product lives up to our exacting standards.
Crimsafe produces Cyclone Debris Screens for use in Regions C and D, passing Australian Standard tests that simulate the impact of flying debris at up to 392kph.
Crimsafe Fire Tuff® screens are bushfire compliant to the highest risk rating, and tested for fire attenuation, reducing the intensity of radiant heat flux and naked flame by up to 59%.

The Crimsafe difference
There are three major reasons that Crimsafe outperforms the competition for strength testing.
1. Tensile-Tuff® mesh
At 0.9mm in diameter, Crimsafe’s 304 grade tensile stainless steel mesh is up to 26% thicker on the cross section than most other mesh products on the market, making it harder to cut or penetrate.
Most of our competition uses 316 marine grade steel – and they’ll tell you it is stronger than 304 structural grade. This is not true, and the testing shows it. Our Tensile-Tough mesh is engineered to remain strong and absorb the impact of an attack, not become brittle and give way at the point of impact
The specifications pertaining to the mesh and other products that we supply are our target specifications. The actual specifications for items supplied may differ taking into account reasonable manufacturing tolerances.
2. Screw-clamp technology
Only Crimsafe screw-clamps the mesh with tamper-resistant screws that go right through an aluminium clamp, through the mesh and into the frame. This is repeated every 125mm around the regular frame, or every 62.5mm for our Ultimate range and every 25mm for our Commercial range product.
The mechanical fastening of the clamp to the mesh resists the tendency of the mesh to be pulled out of the frame. This is what gives Crimsafe the strength to withstand enormous forces and impacts.
3. Ultimate strength and good looks
Crimsafe Ultimate is our newest, strongest range of security screens, featuring a smooth architectural design.
Our new patented sealing assembly™ technology makes Crimsafe Ultimate 40% stronger than our regular product, and gives it a smooth, curved profile that looks great, thanks to a clip-on cover that creates a sealed chamber for the fastenings. Read more about Crimsafe Ultimate.
Crimsafe is an Australian company that commenced production in 1996.
The Crimsafe product was established in response to a need for outstanding security for homes and businesses, without the intrusive appearance of bars and grilles.
The idea of a woven stainless steel mesh was born – a product that would be incredibly strong and fulfil the double role of both security and insect screening.
With advice from the ASSDA (Australian Stainless Steel Development Assoication), Crimsafe developed a high tensile woven stainless steel mesh, gripped by a unique screw-clamp™ system that screwed through the mesh and into the frame.
The result was a tremendously strong, yet extremely versatile security screen that provides good airflow, visibility and a streamlined appearance that enhances the look of your home, rather than dominating it.
Crimsafe is the market leader in stainless steel security screen products. In 2015 the company was purchased by Oceania Capital Partners.
Dedicated to reducing the crime rate in Australia, Crimsafe is proud to be the only security screen company strong enough to partner with Crime Stoppers. Crime Stoppers acknowledges Crimsafe as a manufacturer of high quality, extensively tested security doors and windows, proven to deter break-ins and intrusions.
The Australian Stainless Steel Development Association(ASSDA) is a non-profit industry group that has been developing a strong and vibrant stainless steel industry in Australia since 1992.
Established in 1992, ASSDA represents more than 200 member companies representing the stainless steel spectrum, including overseas mills, stockists and distributors, fabricators, engineering consultants, end users and service providers.
ASSDA Accreditation gives asset owners and specifiers greater certainty that applications using stainless steel will be performed by technically competent industry specialists.
Crimsafe is ASSDA accredited in the fabrication services of the Architectural, Light Commercial industry categories.
